Goodbye Summer Days

Time goes by so quickly! It is already autumn!!!

Today, I have for you: Etude House LUCIDarling number 03:

The application was great! There was shimmer all over the place, which made me worry about the removal. But a very big plus is that it dried suppa fast. Only 2 coats were needed to create this great finish!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Flower-edged French

There this thing about Japanese nail polishes (color, shimmer, glitter, design of the bottle!!!), which I like very much. I came across this brand 'Canmake Tokyo' during my quest =P partly due to the cute design of the bottle (well, about 90%). They have a large variety of nail polish colors with descriptions about the color, since there is no bottle picture of each color. For more information, you can check:

Canmake No. 31
Cinnamon Pearl
This is the color that I want to share with you: [31] Cinnamon Pearl. Canmake gives the following description:

'A pinkish beige nail varnish containing crystal pearl particles. The exquisite pearl particles and glossy sheen will make your nails look more beautiful than unadorned nails and when you use this color once, you won’t want to let it go.'

There is no better way to describe it than what is mentioned above. It is a sheer polish with very sparkling crystal pearl particles. This time I used it as base for my french mani along with Konad M51.

In the mean time, I will discover whether Cinnamon Pearl has the ability as layer polish.

Coated Chocolate

A while ago, I bought L.A. Colors Mega Watt which I wanted to use for French mani's or for nude looking nails (rather than wearing nothing at all). I was curious how this color would look, so I began: swatch 1...lovely peachy pink shimmer...swatch 2...lovely peachy pink shimmer...swatch 3...swatch 4!!! Normally I would have stopped after 3, which is my max. But after 3 coats, it was still very sheer and it seems the color looked exactly like the first coat. That is why I put this one in the category of 'layer-polish'.

Since autumn is almost around the corner, I picked a brown polish to swatch: Barry M's Chocolate. It is really like you are swatching your nails with melted chocolate.

Then I layered one coat of Mega Watt over Chocolate:

Finding a nice layering effect is like discovering a new polish color, don't you think?

Gypsy Night

So excited to show you this pretty polish: Topshop's Gypsy Night!!!

It was a tough job to capture every detail with the camera, so I hope you can see how AMAZING this polish is. Gypsy Night has a black jelly base, but more important are the tiny glitters and orange FLAKIES!!! The glitters give a different color as the light falls on it in different angles: green, blue, orange.

See for yourself:

Totally in love with this one  ^^

Sassy Sparkle

This is how it was before I layered 'Sassy Sparkle' from L.A. Colors over my Dolly Wink polish:

With one coat of Sassy Sparkle:

If you are wondering where my index finger went on the 'after-picture', well...I ruined it during the photo-shoot *sigh*

A Closer Look at Dolly Wink

As promised in my very first blog-post, I will swatch the Dolly Wink polish collection. These polishes are cutely packed and the bottles are soooooo beautiful. The application was smooth and it was opaque with only 2 coats! The finish was super glossy, no topcoat needed.

From l-r: No. 3 ~ No. 7 ~ No. 8 ~ No. 9

Confession: I only bought these because of the cute bottles...haven't read any reviews about them... (-_-)"

Would you also buy nail polishes only because you fell in love with the design of the bottle?

Have a wonderful day!!!

Flowerzzz...

First, let's take a look at the base color. It is from the LUCIDarling collection from Etude House, which is a Korean brand. I acknowledge this brand through the hot CF with Jang Geun Suk and Park Shin Hye, the main leads in the Korean drama: You're Beautiful. LUCIDarling no. 03 is a nice warm peach colour with tiny gold shimmer, which is very hard to capture with my camera. The formula was a bit streaky, but the moment the topcoat was applied, it looked gorgeous =]

For the lucky ones who live in the United States, you can find Etude House products on their US online shop: http://etudehouseusa.com/

Furthermore, I used Barry M's Chocolate to stamp the flower-motive of image plate M73. And this is the final look with Konad Topcoat:

Multi-French-Mani

As promised, I would swatch the Dolly Wink (DW) nail polish collection. Well, at least a little part of it.

Today's mani is inspired by the Vivid Dolly look from the Dolly Wink website:

http://www.koji-honpo.co.jp/tsubasa/lineup/nail/
Only 2 colors are featured in this mani from the DW collection: no. 3 (Salmon) and no. 8 (Blue).

From index to pinkie:
DW no. 8 ~ L.A. Colors 'Fun In The Sun' ~ DW no. 3 ~ Models Own 'Lemon Meringue'

The bottle in the picture is: Catrice 'Back To Black'. This is also the color that I used to do the black french.

What you do think of the multi-french-mani? What colors would you pick to create this look?

KOTD 'crack nail polish design'

Yes, you heard it right. There is a Konad image plate that makes your nail polish look like it has cracked! Well, at least from a little distance, I will show you.

First of all, I used the grey colored polish of Topshop, which is called 'Hopscotch' as base color. I prefer a light base color with this design. As for the stamping color, I used Koh's nr. 134 'Rainy Day'. This is my first Koh nail polish, so I was very excited to try it out. The formula was quite thick, which is normal for a creme polish. It was opaque with only one coat, how cool is that?! This makes it suitable as stamping color.

And with image plate M73, the final look is created:

Yes, that is the Catrice 'C02 Looking Greyt' from the fall collection: Expect the Unexpected. Doesn't the design on the polish bottle look like the KOTD? This is totally a coincidence, since the mani was created last night and I had no intension to buy this nail polish at all (well, at least not this particular day ^^ ). But this afternoon, the whole Catrice LE collection was displayed in the drugstore...you can fill in the rest of the story...

What do you think? Does this design of M73 look like the nail polish has cracked?

And to those who were just looking at the 'Looking Greyt' bottle, I will swatch it very soon...

Have a wonderful day!

First Konad Post

This was during my battle to obtain the Catrice LE from the Carame Collection. I only conquered 'Bronzed Brown' and 'Spiced Bronze'. The first one is featured in today's konad mani.

What I used:

Konad Regular Polish
'R55 Pastel Green'

Catrice 'Bronzed Brown'
I used the regular polish of Konad 'R55 Pastel Green' as base color. When I was in a store that sells all the Konad stuff, there was aside from the Konad special polishes, also a wide collection of these regular polishes. I picked one just for a try-out. The formula is smooth and it is opaque in 2 coats!

As for the Konad design, I used the 'Bronzed Brown' from the Catrice LE collection and the Konad image plate M64.

Have a wonderful day!
