In The Mood For Fall

It's still summer here, but I am already in the mood for a fall mani. The cause of this crazy mood change has to do with the launch of the 2011 fall collection of both OPI and China Glaze. The moment I saw the swatches of OPI 'Touring America' and CG 'Metro' collections, I just wanted to use similar colours to create something.

These are the colours/ tools that I used:

~ H&M Spring Nails Set: White
~ H&M Spring Nails Set: Brown
~ Etude House Petite Darling Nails: GR607 Sand Green
~ Dotting tool (you can also use a toothpick)
~ Konad image plate M77
~ Konad special polish: White

I have already swatched all four colours of the H&M Spring Nails Set in a previous post. Who would have thought that these tiny beauties are suited for fall mani's as well =] As for the other beauty, Etude House Sand Green, this is the first time to swatch it, although it's been in my stash for a while now. Sand Green (don't quite get the name) is a dark sheer green polish that reaches opacity with two coats. Just like the other Petite Darlings, the application was easy and smooth. I really like the way this polish blended with H&M White; it looks like a green gradient.

This mani is very easy. The method for the index, middle and pink is the same. I simply layered thick coats of the brown, white and green polishes first. While the polish is still wet, I used a dotting tool to make stripes beginning at the tip of the finger to the cuticle. Due to the thick layers, the dry time is a bit longer than usual. As for the accent nail, I used Konad M77 along with Konad special White polish to stamp the feathers.

Have a wonderful one!!!

EH Matte: Latte Brown

Not only do I love Korean brand Etude House, I also like listening to Korean music even though I can't understand a word. Recently, one of the most popular Korean boy band released a new mini album and one track is called 'cafe'. While listening to that song, I thought of this polish:

In a previous post, another Etude House matte polish was swatched. I promised to show you one more from the Petite Darling matte collection, so here it is: no. 2 Latte Brown. Latte Brown appears a bit darker on the nails than on the bottle.

Like Milky Way Purple, the application was good, but you have to work fast. One coat was sufficient to reach opacity.

Have a nice cup of coffee and enjoy your day!!!

EH Matte: Milky Way Purple

As you already know, I'm totally in over my head about one particular Korean brand: Etude House. Their products have the most lovely looks and are very good in use.

Recently, Etude House came with a Petite Darling Matte Nails Collection which consists of 5 beautiful matte colours and they HAVE names!!! Instead of using solely numbers to name each colour, this time, I found out that they have names too. Maybe Etude House have named the polishes of the other collections already, but since I can't read Korean, I wouldn't know.

So here is No. 3 from the Petite Darling Matte Nails Collection: Milky Way Purple!!! Love the name...Love the mattified bottle...

Milky Way Purple turned out to be a greyed purple/ mauve. The finish is indeed very matte. When applying the polish, you have to be very quick and have more polish on the brush than usual. By doing this, the problem that brush strokes will appear will be limited. Despite the thick layer, it dried very fast and one coat was enough to be opaque.

Before and after applying one layer of topcoat:

I have one more to go from Petite Darling Matte Nails Collection...

Have a wonderful one!!!

Multi Christmas!!!

Whohoho...There are so many beautiful Xmas mani's out there in blog world! I wanted to give it a try as well:

I used Etude House LUCIDarling's WH001 as base colour for my index and pink finger. As for the middle and ring finger, I layered two coats of OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock and OPI Yoga-ta Got This Blue respectively. For the design on the index finger, OPI's RHAR is used to draw the Xmas sock and the lines are created by Essence Nail Art Pen in Pearl White.

Sorry for the not-so-sharp picture.
I'm glad though, since the designs did not turn out that well =P
The shy Snowman is created with Barry M Matt White (body), OPI Yoga-ta Got This Blue (eyes and bottons) and OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock (scarf). As for the Christmas tree, this one is made by using GR 607 of Etude House Petite Darling HD Nails.

I definitely need more practice on the nail art, but I had much fun making it. What (mani/polish) are you going to wear on Christmas?

Have a wonderful one!!!

Etude House Petite Darling HD Nails + PP904

I have already another haul for you, this time it is: Etude House Petite Darling HD Nail Polishes.
<From left to right>
GR607 - GR605 - PK006 - Pink Sheer Glitter - PP904
Etude House is a famous Korean brand and offers a huge product assortment (skin care, make-up, body care, hair care, perfume, tools etc). To find out more about Etude House, please check: Etude Global. And for the Etude House USA online-shop, you can visit: Etude House USA.

By showing you the nail polish bottles alone is just not enough. Therefore I proudly present: PP904. Etude House does not have names for their polishes but that is OK with me, as long as the bottles are cute and the nail polish is GOOD!  PP904 has an aubergine purple colour with golden and purple shimmer. It is quite interesting if you look at the bottle. The golden and purple shimmer creates patterns in the bottle, as you can see in the pictures. There are 2 coats in the pictures, but 1 was already enough.

I would recommend the Etude House Petite Darling HD Nails to every nail polish lover. The price is reasonable and the quality is good. Above that, the Petite Darling HD Nail Polishes come in 7ml bottles, which will diminish the 'waste' if you can not finish the whole bottle.

Have a great one!!!
